Moving your child back from a tutor

When lessons finish — or if you just change your mind — your child's account can move back to you, with everything they've done. Here's how, and what happens if the tutor doesn't reply.

The short version Open your child's page, scroll to Your data, and choose Move back to us. Your tutor is asked to approve it. Everything your child has done comes with them. If the tutor hasn't answered within 14 days, you can finish it yourself.

When you'd want this

Usually because lessons have finished and you'd like to carry on practising at home. Sometimes because you're changing tutor. Either way there's no reason your child should lose six months of work over it.

How to do it

  1. Open your child's page in the parent portal.
  2. Scroll to Your data.
  3. Choose Move back to us and confirm.

Your tutor gets an email and a message at the top of their student list. Nothing moves until they approve it — or until the deadline passes.

What moves, and what doesn't

Comes back to youEvery practice test and answer, their streak, their topic progress, the practice calendar, and their devices — a tablet already set up keeps working.
Stays with the tutorTheir private working notes about your child. Those are the tutor's own professional record, the same as a teacher's markbook — you've never been able to see them, and that doesn't change. They aren't deleted either; they stay with the tutor.
Doesn't come backAny groups or classes the tutor had put your child in. Those only mean something inside that tutor's account.

If your tutor doesn't reply

After 14 days you can complete it yourself, from the same button. The date is shown to you when you ask, and your tutor is told it as well.

That's there for one reason: this is a record about your child, and a tutor not answering can't be a way of keeping it indefinitely. The two weeks are so a tutor in the middle of a busy term has a fair chance to respond — most will approve it the same day.

It's not a fight If you're moving on amicably — which is nearly always — just tell your tutor you've sent it. They approve, and it's done in a minute.
