Moving your child to a tutor

If you've been using Strivli on your own and are now working with a tutor, your child's account can move across without losing anything. Here's what you're agreeing to, and what stays the same.

The short version A tutor can ask to take over your child's Strivli account. Nothing happens until you say yes. Everything your child has done moves with them — every test, their streak, their progress. You keep seeing exactly what you see now.

How it starts

If you've been using Strivli yourself and you then engage a tutor, they'll ask you for your child's join code — the same code you'd use to put your child on a new tablet. You'll find it on your child's page in the parent portal.

Giving them the code is not agreeing to anything. It lets them send you the request, and that's all. The code still works for your own devices afterwards.

What you'll see

Next time you open your child's page, there'll be a message at the top naming the tutor and their business, with two buttons. It tells you what moves before you decide, not after.

What actually moves

Moves acrossEvery practice test and every answer. Their streak. Their progress on each topic. The practice calendar. Their devices — a tablet already set up keeps working, and nobody has to type a code again.
Stays exactly as it isYour access. You'll still open the same parent portal, see the same pages, get the same weekly email. You don't sign up again and you don't lose anything.
Starts freshNothing. That's the point of doing it this way — a child who has built up six months of work keeps all six months.

What changes for you afterwards

The tutor will be able to see your child's practice and set them work, in the same way a teacher sees a pupil's book. Your child's page will show the tutor's name on it, so it's clear who they're now learning with.

The tutor also becomes the data controller for your child's record from that point — which in plain terms means requests to see or delete their data go to the tutor rather than to us, and we do it on their instruction. Our privacy notice explains that in full.

If you'd rather not

Choose No thanks. Nothing at all changes — your child carries on exactly as they are, and the tutor is simply not connected. You're not asked again unless they send a new request, and a request that sits unanswered expires by itself after 30 days.

Can it be undone? Yes. If lessons finish, or you simply change your mind, you can ask for your child's account to move back to you — see Moving your child back from a tutor.
